General CBD Questions
What is CBD?
“CBD” (Cannabidiol) is one compound found in a cannabis plant and is extracted to form oil and other forms of ingestion methods. Research has shown the CBD can greatly benefit those suffering from chronic pain, easing symptoms in a wide range of difficult to control conditions: rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, alcoholism, PTSD, epilepsy, antibiotic-resistant infections and has shown anticancer potential.
CBD is a non-psychoactive compound from the cannabis plant which yields health benefits. Although it is extracted from a cannabis plant, it has ZERO mind altering effects. CBD is non-toxic and has potent pain relieving and anti-inflammatory properties.
Is CBD legal?
As long as the form in which you are taking the CBD contains 0.3% or less of THC, yes, it is legal.
What are Terpenes?
Terpenes are part of the cannabis plant produced in the resin of the plant along with cannabinoids. They are known to have their own therapeutic effects.
How Much CBD Should I Take?
Depending which method you have chosen, your dosing will vary. Every person’s endocannabinoid system is different and will have different requirements; we recommend you start lower and work your way up to your preferred dose, keeping in mind that consistency is key. Many people report success at around 25mg of CBD. You can discuss your product need and dosing if needed for a recommendation.
Hemp Oil vs CBD Oil?
Hemp oil is an extract of hemp produced from the seeds of the plant. It is used for cooking and is full of nutrients, moisturizer, base for lotions, soaps, some foods and can be used as a bio-diesel fuel, like other vegetable oils.
CBD oil is cannabis oil that has a significant content of cannabidiol (CBD). It is made from the flowers, stalks and leaves of the hemp plant instead of the seeds.
It’s important to understand that Hemp and Marijuana are not the same – they are from the same cannabis family. They both serve completely different purposes – marijuana is mainly known for its medicinal and recreational purposes whereas hemp is used in a variety of applications like dietary supplements, skin products, clothing and accessories and many many more – applications marijuana
couldn’t possibly be used in.
What is the difference between Hemp, Cannabis and Marijuana?
These terms are sometimes interchangeably used, confusing consumers trying to understand the differences. While each term is technically all from the same plant species, lets break each one down to make them easy to understand on their own:
- Hemp: part of the cannabis plant, hemp is technically the fiber and seed portion of the cannabis sativa plant. This strain is often produced industrially, and the amount of THC is minimal. Hemp is at the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to its function and applications when compared to marijuana. Hemp has been widely known as a cash crop specifically for its industrial uses and a variety of other applications. Hemp oil contains very low levels of CBD and THC.
- Cannabis and Marijuana: these terms are one in the same, cannabis and marijuana both refer to the flowery portion of the cannabis plant that can be used for medical or recreational purposes. The most well-known compound of the cannabis plant is Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, causing users to feel a euphoric high. Cannabis is generally divided into two categories – Sativa and Indica, each producing a different set of altering properties.
Hemp and Marijuana are considered cousins in the plant world since they come from the same species but contain different properties.

For a more holistic approach to using CBD, a full spectrum product is recommended. NuWay Healing Alternatives offers Full-Spectrum products unless otherwise specified.
Broad Spectrum CBD is just that, it contains a broad spectrum of the cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant including CBD but excluding THC.
The possible benefits of CBD and high-quality product do exist in both forms.

Does CBD Benefit Athletes?
Since CBD can be used both for medicinal purposes (you have a condition you are seeking therapy for) and health benefit purposes (you are seeking CBD for its health benefits) it is an ideal solution for athletes. The cause for euphoria in athletes is not entirely related to endorphins but also to a fatty acid neurotransmitter – anadamide. This neurotransmitter is responsible for feelings of euphoria, pain-relief, well-being and relaxation. CBD increases the amount of anadamide available, giving you increased benefits. CBD benefits of reducing pain and inflammation, muscle spasms and appetite stimulation can all directly benefit an athlete seeking to inhibit pain and inflammation, cure strained muscles or consume the added calories needed for muscle. The benefits of CBD can span much beyond these mentioned symptoms for athletes as well, these are the mots common occurrences.
What Are the Health Benefits Associated with CBD?
A person does not need to have a serious medical condition to treat to benefit from CBD. Offering a more natural alternative to pharmaceuticals, CBD offers the human body many health benefits in addition to aiding in many therapeutic benefits for medical reasons.
